XY is a tragic character study of two individuals, whom we will simply call X and Y. X is a trans woman living in Middle America, just trying to get by. Y is a white male clerk struggling with his own sexuality and self-hatred. Soon, their paths will cross in a horrific and all-too-familiar way.
