Neenah, a young clinic worker long dismissed for her debilitating pelvic pain, secretly injects herself with an experimental drug called Nyrophil, a treatment designed to eliminate women’s pain. The drug works too well: Neenah can no longer feel anything, even as alarming injuries begin appearing on her body. As she watches patients embrace the same numbness, Neenah confronts a disturbing system that markets relief as empowerment while quietly erasing women’s ability to sense danger, harm, or themselves.​
